👑 Holiday habits for Hustlers

Navigating chaos? We got this

What’s up, Hustlers!

My fam is fully immersed in the holiday vibes, and it's reminding me of some of my favorite memories.

Flashback to my college days—one year when I came home from break while my sister was still in high school, we realized we had both been secretly hooked on Battlestar Galactica (frakking epic!). We then spent the entire break binge-watching the final seasons together.

What’s your favorite holiday season memory?

 .WHAT I’M PRIORITIZING.

Workouts, even during the holiday season. This time of year, it can be easy to fall into what I call the “holiday avalanche.” It’s when one missed workout turns into three missed workouts, turning into a month of feeling crappy. How can you break the chain?

  • Show up consistently. Replace “I don’t have time” with “It doesn’t matter.”

  • Stay nimble in your workout execution. Give yourself the freedom to change your training plan if you don’t have time for that 60-minute ride. Don’t fall into the all-or-nothing mentality.

  • Zoom out and think about the goal. Maybe this time of year it’s not a PR...it’s to continue investing in your mental and physical health.

Apathy leads to an avalanche. Care enough to break the chain. You got this, fam! 💪

 .WHAT I’M EATING.

Happy Hanukkah to everyone celebrating with us! One way we love to mark the holiday? A classic Jewish breakfast—bagels, lox, and extra whitefish salad. It’s a family tradition to make it on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. 🕎✨

If you want to get your own classic Jewish goodies (with a vegan twist, of course), I got you: SriMu plant-based cheese, vegan lox from Whole Foods, and LMNT hot chocolate electrolytes change the game!

 .WHAT I’M LOVING.

All the feel-good holiday traditions. I turn into a total softie the second a Hallmark holiday movie comes on. 🎄

Here are a few ways I’m embracing the holiday vibes:

  • Starting November 1, I am already watching Love Actually.

  • “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is blasting from my speakers 24/7.

  • Queen Cuisine is cooking up the perfect flan (recipe? say less).

  • And I’m patiently waiting for the next snowstorm so Athena can make more snow people. ☃️

 .WHAT’S ON MY MIND.

Food during the holidays can be tough for a lot of us. I find that planning ahead helps me make the choices that allow me to feel my best. Here are a few tips →

  1. Pack healthy foods you can rely on. When my fam travels for the holidays, I always bring a few servings of pre-made smoothies with Truvani plant-based protein powder, fruit, PB sandwiches made on Western Bagel protein bagels, vegan protein bars, nuts, and lots of water.

  2. Walk in with a plan that you’ll be proud to walk out with. Think about how you’ll navigate everything from conversations about food to hitting the dessert table. And try not to start the meal too hungry—that’s often when we end up eating past the point of satiation.

  3. Enjoy those once-a-year treats you love during the holidays. Savoring a special treat doesn't automatically translate to an entire week off track. You’re in control.

Question: How do you find balance in your life?

— Leanne

Answer: Let me give it to you straight: I don’t believe in balance. I don’t know who came up with the idea that we can give the same percentage of focus, attention, and effort to every important thing in our life every day, but I’d like to have some words with them.

In reality, it’s impossible to show up 110% for everything every day. That doesn’t mean we toss out our responsibilities or larger purpose…it just means we get a whole hell of a lot better at prioritizing.

Choose the things that are most in alignment with your values and purpose right now and focus on those. Trying to do it all is a recipe for burnout. But picking what matters most, zoning out what doesn’t, and showing up with purpose? That’ll get you where you want to be, Hustler.
