Plus: My favorite vegan protein sources
What’s up, Hustlers!
I have big plans for 2024 and beyond. I know you do too.
Today I’m reminding myself that passion often feels like frustration.
There are many points in my day where I am frustrated that things aren’t moving fast enough. But here's the key: If what you're doing aligns with your values, skills, and the rocket ship you're building, embrace the flames of frustration.
Let them fuel your fire.

.WHAT I’M EATING.
Plant-based protein. One of the questions I get all the time is how I incorporate protein into my plant-based diet. There are tons of ways—I love beans, lentils, tempeh, seitan, and tofu.
Want a quick and protein-focused vegan meal? Try my balsamic tofu and blistered tomatoes. 🍅
Grab some cherry tomatoes and a chopped onion. Toss your veggies with your oil of choice (I used Tony’s citrus olive oil), balsamic vinegar, and my secret ingredient: Paleo Powder grain-free almond and flax “breadless breading.”
Cube some tofu and toss it in the same seasoning lineup—but keep your veggies and tofu separate until the end.
Cook your veggies and tofu at 400 degrees for about 35 minutes, then combine, toss with some fresh parsley, and sprinkle with coconut aminos.
Try it out and let me know what you think! 👩‍🍳
.WHAT I’M LOVING.
Running in the winter. 🥶 We finally got some snow here in New York, and I’ve been loving the chance to log some chilly miles. Did you know? Cold weather is actually easier to run in. There's less heat stress on the body.
Here are my tips for running in cold weather:
Warm up inside. I do a 5-minute warm up ride or run inside, then head out the door. You can also do jumping jacks or any sort of quick cardio burst to get your blood flowing!
BLAST power music getting ready. Anything Lizzo, Beyoncé, or Bad Bunny is guaranteed to turn up the heat.
Try lemongrass oil. I put a few drops on my neck and face. The scent keeps me feeling awake and alert.
Get the right swag. Gloves, a hat, waterproof socks, and a technical base layer are necessary. But don’t overdo it—you can still overheat in frigid temps.
Hydrate. It’s important, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
Most important? Mind over miles. You’ve got this. Not to mention you’ll feel like a badass.
❄️ 👟 Share your winter running pics!
.WHAT I’M THINKING ABOUT.
How to make a change. I believe that feeling stuck can always be reframed as a launching pad. The first step is distinguishing if you are actually stuck or if you’re just frustrated (remember, passion can often feel like frustration).
Tune into the internal conversation and trust your instincts to determine when it's time to pivot. Personally, I rely on the tools in my toolkit—journaling, vision boarding, and movement—to reconnect with myself and unveil the path forward.
Then, when I've decided it's time for a change, I pose three questions to myself:
Why not me?
What is my why?
What decision would I make if I were twice as strong and twice as confident?
These questions serve as compass points, giving me the confidence to pivot in the direction of my why.
The pen is in your hand. What story will you write?
This community is a powerhouse of hustlers, and I'm constantly inspired by the incredible stories and accomplishments you share with me. Now, it's time to share them with all of you.
