Whatβs up, Hustlers!Β
Self-pity is poison.
Life will test you. Thatβs a fact. But hereβs your challenge: turn βwhy me?β into βtry me.β That mindset shift? Itβs where your power lives.
When something unexpected comes my way, I check my inner voice. I speak to myself like I would a friend with honesty, compassion, and strength. The longer you stay stuck in that spiral of self-pity, the more youβre just drinking poison.
Catch the spiral. Interrupt the story. Rewrite the script.

.WHAT IβM REFLECTING ON.
Results from Test Week πͺ Last week was test weekβa checkpoint in my training to assess where Iβm at: strength, endurance, power. I hit a PR on my bench press and deadlift, but my row was 7 seconds slower. I felt frustrated, but I had to stop and remind myself: not everything moves forward at once. And thatβs okay.
If you find yourself stuck in comparison, frustrated by a plateau, or questioning your pace this weekβhere are a few mindset shifts to help you stay grounded and keep moving:
Zoom Out. One test, one workout, one rough dayβnone of it defines the whole journey. Ask yourself: Am I reacting to a snapshot or seeing the full picture?
Name A Win. Even in a mixed bag, thereβs progress somewhere. Claim it. Celebrate it. Use it as fuel.
Stay in the Reps. A plateau isnβt failure. Itβs feedback. It means youβre still in it, still building. Trust the process and keep showing up.
Remember: youβre building more than numbers.
.WHAT IβM SHOUTING OUT.
Beans deserve more hype! π« Theyβre one of the most underrated power foods out thereβpacked with plant-based protein, fiber, and nutrients that keep your body fueled and your gut happy. Whether you're training hard, chasing energy, or just trying to eat with more intention, beans show up strong.
Hereβs a breakdown of a few of my favoritesβand how I like to use them:
Lupini Beans (15g protein per Β½ cup): I toss these into salads or make them into delicious nuggets. A fam favorite.
Lentils (9g protein per Β½ cup cooked): Perfect in soups, over rice, or as a base for veggie-packed stews. Quick to cook and super satisfying.
Edamame (9g protein per Β½ cup): A go-to for post-workout recovery. I throw them into stir-fries, rice bowls, or eat them plain with sea salt and chili flakes.
Black Beans (7g protein per Β½ cup): Great in tacos, mixed into grain bowls, or blended into a spicy bean dip. A pantry staple that always delivers.
Chickpeas (7g protein per Β½ cup): I roast them for a crunchy snack, mash them into chickpea salad, or blend into hummus for a creamy, protein-rich spread.
.WHAT IβM CHALLENGING YOU.
Start that βsomedayβ project. π You know the oneβthe idea thatβs been living rent-free in your head. The dream you keep saying youβll get to someday when youβre less busy, when life calms down, when the timing feels right.
Back when I was practicing law, I started carving out 10 minutes on my work calendar just for me. Iβd use it to imagine my next pivot, sketch out new ideas, or write down the vision I was building toward. Those 10 minutes? They launched the life Iβm living now.
No more waiting for the βright time.β Hereβs this weekβs Summer of Swagger challenge: every day this week, block off 10β15 minutes to work on your βsomedayβ project. Plot. Plan. Brainstorm. Research. Dream out loud.
At the end of the week, show us what youβve got. A screenshot, a scribble, a sentence. Tag us and share your progress. It doesnβt have to be perfectβit just has to be real.

The ESPYs on Extra π€ Iβm headed to the ESPYs this week and reporting live from the red carpet with Extra! Tune in at 2:30 PM PST / 5:30 PM EST to catch all the action.
Some of the most iconic athletes in the world will be showing upβand Iβll be asking the questions that go beyond the stats. I want to know what fuels their mindset, what powers their drive, and how they show up when no oneβs watching.
You know I live for these moments. Letβs celebrate greatness, resilience, and hustle. Catch the showβand donβt forget to cast your votes. β¬

The first Barbie with T1D π Yesterday on GMA, I shared more about my incredible collaboration with Barbie. As a lifelong Barbie fan, this full-circle moment is one Iβll never forget. We talked about Mattelβs launch of the first-ever Barbie doll with Type 1 diabetesβand I was honored with my own one-of-a-kind doll that reflects my journey. Representation matters, and this partnership is all about showing kids (and adults!) that their power isnβt limited by their challengesβitβs defined by how they rise.
Thanks for reading, Hustlers. Go out there, pivot with power, and stay curious about whatβs next.
