Plus: New cake recipe!
What’s up, Hustlers!
Stepping into our power begins with trusting ourselves.
There are countless moments when I feel like I don’t have it all figured out. Then I remember all the times I felt that way before, and here I am. Standing strong.
You don’t have to have it all figured out at once.
Trust yourself and remember that you have the power to make the next best choice.

.WHAT I’M BAKING.
Patriotic Cake 🇺🇸 Hope y'all had an awesome 4th of July with family and friends! To celebrate, I whipped up this delicious vegan cake to share with my crew. Change the toppings, and you’ve got a cake for any occasion. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Ingredients
Vanilla Cake
1 1/3 cups almond milk, unsweetened
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup canola oil or melted coconut oil
1 cup sugar (I like coconut sugar)
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (I used almond flour)
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Vegan Cream Cheese Frosting
1 container of vegan cream cheese (1 cup)
1/2 cup vegan butter, softened at room temperature (I used Earth Balance)
2 tablespoons of liquid sweetener
1/3 cup brown sugar (I used the sweeteners that I had in the pantry!)
Other
1 cup fresh blueberries
2 cups sliced strawberries or raspberries
Instructions
For the Vanilla Cake:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and lightly grease a cake pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the almond milk and vinegar. Let sit for 1 minute to curdle. Then add the oil, sugar, and vanilla. Whisk to combine.
Measure the flour and add it on top of the wet mixture. Sprinkle on the baking powder and salt. Mix with a wooden spoon until the batter is smooth.
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until a fork comes out clean and the cake is just a little golden on top.
I pour on the frosting right when it comes out of the oven for a strawberry shortcake vibe. You could also let the cake cool and use a thicker frosting or even whipped cream for a topping.
For the Vegan Cream Cheese Frosting:
In the same bowl you used for the cake, add the softened vegan butter and vegan cream cheese. Mix until creamy, smooth, and well combined. I don't have a mixer (LOL), so I mixed by hand. Definitely recommend using a mixer.
Add the sugar until thick and spreadable and to the amount of sweetness you like. Store in the fridge until you are ready to frost the cake.
Assembling the Cake:
Pour the frosting on top.
Create your berry design and enjoy!
.WHAT I’M SHARING.
Tips for staying on your fitness hustle đź‘ź Summer can easily derail your fitness goals, but let's not let distractions rewrite our plans. You can enjoy the season and keep hustling, no excuses.
Make it about more than a "summer body." This is a lifestyle. Focus on performance, strength, speed, or even the feeling of stepping into your power. The body is a bonus.
Be specific and action oriented. Give yourself a measurable deadline. Then, make appointments with yourself that mark progress towards your goal - like a boss.
Forward is forward. Plateaus are inevitable. Champions just keep showing up.
Stay active while you travel. Once you indulge the excuses, they spiral. Something is better than nothing. Download the Peloton app and keep moving.
Stop looking for a shortcut. Do the work. There will never be a sale on hustle.
.WHAT I’M READING.
State of Latinas in Corporate America report. Our friends at LeanIn.Org recently released the first-ever State of Latinas in Corporate America report. The report draws heavily on Lean In and McKinsey & Company’s annual Women in the Workplace study, the largest study on the state of women in corporate America. It sheds light on some of the unique challenges faced by Latinas and shares recommendations for companies to prioritize Latinas’ advancement. You can read the full report on the LeanIn.Org website, and see below for how companies can support Latinas:
Tackle the pipeline barriers that hold Latinas back
Increase the focus on sponsorship for Latinas
Ensure Latinas have equal access to flexibility
Foster inclusion for Latinas
Together, we can champion the advancement of Latinas in the workplace. Read the report, spread the word, and let’s shatter these limiting constructs. 💪
Question: What are your favorite things to eat before and after a workout?
Answer: Fueling your body right is extremely important for feeling strong during your workouts. It's all about finding what works for you and what your body can handle while you're moving.
I like the rule of halves—half of your meal or snack before the workout and half after, so you're starting with something that's smaller than a hefty meal. My go-to's? A protein bagel with almond butter, coconut yogurt with fruit, tofu scramble with veggies, or a plant-based smoothie with water, greens, protein, and berries!

The 2024 ESPYs 🏆️ I'm headed to LA this week for the ESPY Awards, hosted by Serena Williams. The ESPYs honor the top players and teams across major American sports, and also those whose impact goes beyond the game.
This year has been all about badass women dominating the mainstage. I'm pumped to see these queens get the recognition they deserve.
