đź‘‘ What happens when you bet on yourself?

Plus: My new fall recipe that’s sweet, salty, and clean

What’s up, Hustlers!

Balance isn’t the goal. Find alignment instead.

Trying to do everything perfectly, all at once, just leaves us drained and distracted.

When you focus on alignment, every “yes” and every “no” becomes intentional. You start to move from a place of purpose, not pressure. That’s real power.

Where in your life could you trade balance for alignment?

 .WHAT I’M CELEBRATING.

My Latina Roots đź‡µđź‡· đź‡¨đź‡ş Latinx Heritage Month is a reminder of my foundation—and my fire. My father came from Puerto Rico and worked as a janitor at CUNY in the Bronx, where he refused to take no for an answer until he became a lawyer. My mother came to the U.S. from Cuba as a teenager, taught herself English, and went on to become a doctor. Their stories are the blueprint of my hustle. They taught me to bet on myself, to lead with pride, and to never shrink who I am to fit someone else’s mold.

Read more about how my culture continues to shape my life in this Hispanic Heritage Month feature from the Modern Wellness Guide. Honored to be included alongside other incredible Latino leaders who are shaping the future. ⬇️

 .WHAT I’M DEVOURING.

Clean Apple Crisp 🍎 We took the kids apple picking last weekend, and after hauling home way too many apples, I started experimenting in the kitchen. This baked apple recipe has officially become an obsession—simple, warm, and packed with flavor. ⬇️

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji work great)

  • 3–4 tbsp plain rolled oats

  • 2–3 tbsp sunflower butter (or peanut butter, almond butter, or tahini)

  • A handful of chopped dried fruit (I used dates and apricots—raisins or cranberries work too)

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • Drizzle of maple syrup

  • Cinnamon, to taste

  • Optional topping: whipped cream, vanilla ice cream, berries

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Core the apples and pierce them with a fork or skewer so they cook evenly.

  • Melt the sunflower butter, then mix in oats, dried fruit, and sea salt.

  • Stuff each apple with the mixture and place in a baking dish.

  • Drizzle maple syrup on top and sprinkle with cinnamon.

  • Bake for about 30 minutes, until the apples are soft and caramelized.

  • Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream and berries.

Sweet, salty, and clean—these baked apples hit all the right notes. I’ve already made them twice this week! Try them out and let me know what you think.

 .WHAT I’M LISTENING TO.

The Deal with A-Rod & Jason Kelly 🎙️This one hit different. My convo with Alex Rodriguez and Jason Kelly on The Deal podcast dug into the small pivots and big bets that built the life I’m living now. We talked about how to marry skillset with opportunity, turn restlessness into reinvention, and create a life that feels like your definition of success—not anyone else’s.

We got into what it really takes to walk away from “stable” to build something meaningful. If you’ve ever felt that nudge that there’s more out there for you, but you’re not sure where to start—this one’s for you.

Athlos 2025 👑 This Friday, October 10th, the fastest women in the world are taking over NYC for an unforgettable night of track and field at Icahn Stadium. I’ll be reporting live from the red carpet and the stands, getting celebrity reactions and behind-the-scenes moments from this iconic celebration of women in sports. And if that’s not enough… THE Ciara will be performing.

You can still grab your tickets here. Speed, sound, and swagger all in one night. 🔥

Question: I’m focused on eating better, but my pantry says otherwise thanks to my family…help!

- Tara

Answer: The answer is simple (but not easy) - don't buy junk and get it out of the house. I often talk about reducing points of friction, but in this case, it's the opposite. Make the unhealthy foods more difficult to grab. Make the bad decision harder to make.

The key is telling your family about your goals. Involve them in the conversation and elicit their support. Together, discuss healthy swaps for foods that everyone can enjoy!
