What’s up, Hustlers!Β

Progress doesn’t always come with applause.

Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it’s invisible.

But just because you can’t see it yet doesn’t mean it’s not happening. Every rep, every early morning, every choice to keep goingβ€”it’s all stacking.

Trust the process. Stay in it.

.WHAT I’M ANSWERING.

Why you should be lifting HEAVY πŸ‹ This week’s episode of Project Swagger has me fired up. If you could improve your bone density, build muscle, and support longevity, would you do it? Of course. And you know how? Lifting heavy-ass weights.

In today’s episode, I break down what β€œheavy” actually means, what it should feel like, and answer your top questions. Plus: how to support a postpartum mama and how I use music to elevate my mood and performance. Tune in on YouTube, Spotify, Apple, or wherever you get your podcasts.

.WHAT I’M REMIXING.

The perfect loaded Cobb salad πŸ₯— In partnership with the Mushroom Council, I’m showing how crispy mushrooms bring a savory, umami punch to level up a plant-based Cobb.

Fresh veggies, creamy avocado, and my tofu ranch dressingβ€”and you’ve got a bowl that fuels the hustle. Share this with your salad-obsessed friends and level up your Cobb game ⬇

  • 1⃣ Preheat the oven to 450Β°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the tempeh (8 oz) and mushrooms (3.5 oz container) on the baking sheet.

  • 2⃣ In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tablespoons coconut aminos, 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, and Β½ teaspoon liquid smoke (if using). Spoon over the tempeh and mushrooms and toss to coat.

  • 3⃣ Bake until the mushrooms are crisp and browned and the tempeh is charred around the edges, 10–15 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through. Finish with a pinch of salt and a few cracks of black pepper.

  • 4⃣ Build your salad: start with 4 cups spinach, then add black beans, tomatoes, corn, carrots, cucumbers, onion, and avocado. Top with the mushrooms and tempeh, then drizzle generously with tofu ranch dressing.

It’s not magic. It’s mushrooms!

.WHAT I’M SWAPPING.

Small swaps make a big difference πŸ”„ The sun’s coming out, schedules are filling up, and it’s easy for the days to start feeling a little chaotic. When that happens, I come back to the basics: movement, fuel, mindset, and protecting my energy. If you’re in that same space, here are a few easy swaps that make a big difference:

  • A quick walk instead of scrolling πŸ‘Ÿ 10-minute break between calls? Take a lap around the block instead of reaching for your phone. Instant refresh.

  • Meal prep instead of takeout πŸ₯— I carve out time on Sunday to prep a few proteins and veggies for the week. It makes the healthy choice the easy choice when things get busy later.

  • Starting the day with intention instead of reaction β˜€ Wake up a little earlier than you need to (when you can… I know it can be hard with little kids). Read, journal, or move before opening your inbox. It shifts the tone of your entire day.

  • Earlier wind-down instead of late-night TV πŸ› Even 15–20 minutes earlier makes a difference. Better sleep = better everything.

  • Prep the night before instead of rushing in the morning 🧳 Outfit, bag, mealsβ€”setting it up ahead of time makes mornings feel calmer and more in control.

  • Matcha instead of coffee 🍡 I go for Pique’s Sun Goddess Matcha for clean, steady energy and calm focusβ€”no jitters, no crash. It’s my daily ritual for grounded energy and clarity on busy mornings. Use my link for up to 15% + free gifts. #ad

Mother’s Day is almost here 🌸 Last week I pulled together some of my favorite gift ideasβ€”things I genuinely love and use. If you’re still on the hunt, take a look ⬇

Confidence in our bodies ❀️‍πŸ”₯ Last week on Project Swagger, we unpacked body image and the narratives we’ve been taught to believe. I’m not buying into themβ€”and you don’t have to either. Question: What Ninja Creami recipes do you use?

- Shelby
❝

Answer: I keep it super simple. My go-to is freezing a plant-based protein shake and mixing in some berriesβ€”usually gets me 20g+ of protein and feels like dessert.
